Windows 7 Longhorn Skull by TheDarkenedPoet Windows 7 Longhorn Skull by TheDarkenedPoet
Well not so long ago when Windows 7 was still in development I ported a theme from Vista to 7, bubito's skull theme, and now i have given it a fresh make over restyling all of the previous features other than the recognisable start button.

I hope you guys like this revision and please download it :D

This package includes both x86 and x64 versions of explorer with the start menu included aswell as the core visual style.

So, I have the theme installed, but I didn't get any of the icons installed. Is there something extra I need to do beyond what is written in the instructions? I even have the skull start orb now.

Thanks!

Hey, I was wondering if you could upload the bmp you used for the orb?
There's a simple program that switches just the orb out there that I'd prefer to use and the security flaws of taking over system level stuff. Here's the link too if you want to check it out: [link]

I don't like to modify my Aero theme, so i made a standalone theme file for your theme, includes the x64 explorer, Grass Blade wallpapers from the original download.

So now, all you need to do is copy the Longhorn_skull.theme, and Longhorn_skull folder to your Themes folder (C:\Windows\Resources\Themes), and open it in the Personalize menu like any other theme.

Thanks for this, I have to admit that I didn't know how to do this, if you could pm me or reply explaining how you did this it would be awesome, I know i probably sound stupid but i honestly did not know that you could edit the .theme files to default open any other msstyle other than aero.

Okay if people would be a little less vague and explain the issues that they are facing it would be more helpful than simply "not work"

Firstly addressing the issues of thex86 explorer, this is an error on my behalf posting a version of the explorer used in the release candidate of windows 7 therfore making it un useable so if you run 32 bit windows please at this time do not download the file.

Secondly to the people saying it doesnt work and that I have missed something out i would like to point out that i have downloaded the file from deviant art myself to see if there was an error uploading or infact i had missed out a file but i have not, everything is there that you need to get the file to work the msstyle file named skull is the only file that you need to install to apply the theme and to change the start button all you need is the appropriate explorer.exe

If you have any further problems please give details to your issue and it will be duely addressed promptly

Also i would like to say that i have just updated the explorer.exe and that now it is the version from the windows 7 RTM so now everything will work.

Nice theme but the only thing that looks out of place is the start button.
